DRN now signing
new affiliates!
The Dance Radio Network is growing. With over 300 radio markets and 11,600 commercial radio stations
in the United States,
our goal is to eventually obtain an affiliate in each market.
DRN recently visited
Arbitron in Columbia, Maryland. Arbitron is the company
that provides ratings for United States radio stations. This is done by
collecting listener data on radio audiences. Information is collected using
surveys and the personal people meter. The Dance Radio Network wants listeners
of dance music to be recognized in the data.
DRN also met with representatives of Ibiquity. iBiquity Digital Corporation is
the pioneer of
HD Radio, an in-band on-channel (IBOC) digital radio system for
the United States and around the world. This new technology operates on both AM
and FM
bands which provides participating radio stations the ability to not only
broadcast in analog, but high quality digital too. The FM radio stations can
have up to three HD multicast channels. The Dance Radio Network wants to be
heard on the HD2 or HD3 of affiliate radio stations across America. To hear HD
radio, listeners must have a radio receiver designed with HD capabilities.
You can help by asking your local radio station to carry the Dance Radio Network
as their primary format or on their HD2 or HD3 channels. |
